Case studies on the misapplication of technology should be standard fare at business schools.  Look, a bad implementation of an ERP (1) system (or even a CRM system) can kill a company.  Unfortunately, the b-schools mainly focus on financial management (some smart ones are slowly adding some instruction on technology).  Before a CEO signs off on a CIO’s bold plan to install a massive system, they should at least have some knowledge of what could go wrong…  In the meantime, the press should be picking up the slack, but will they publish articles on the disasters?
