Three things
We have three key tasks in these times:
- RESIST the power grabs—In the courts, at the ballot box, in our information diets, and in our minds.
- BUILD the world we want, wherever we can—community, workplace, relationships, and self (in our moods, interpretations, conversations, commitments, and actions).
- INSPIRE & INVITE people to find common ground around common cares, to join together in what’s already working, to protect what’s under threat, and to nurture a world that works for all.
Two moods
We are called on to do these in moods of curisosity and ferocity. Curiosity because we face times and circumstances we have never seen and can’t predict. Because we can never be sure that we understand another person, or another person’s motives. Because curiosity can offer a path away from despair and premature surrender. Ferocity—of the mama bear protecting her cubs, not the other kind, of rampage and cruelty—because there is much to protect and invent, and this will require of us all our courage and love.
One week
So please join us one week from today (Wednesday December 18, from 12:00-1:30pm Pacific time) to talk together about these things on Living Between Worlds—With Grace, Dignity, and Power. This will close our fifth year of these monthly conversations for possibility, and we’d love to have you join us. (Bring your ears, and perhaps your voice!) You can register right here.
“Because people are hungry for meaningful conversations that move worlds. Let’s have some!”
In solidarity,
