Clean air & homeland security juxtapositions
Three stories from Friday’s (6/15) news fit together rather nicely:
– The sometimes curious approach by the White House to protecting “homeland security” now includes a concerted effort to stop protecting our air.
– An international trade commission report notes that “emissions have increased far more than the government’s worse case projections.” (Like double!)
– The auto companies with the strongest commitment to cleaner and more efficient cars (Honda and Toyota) are making the most money per vehicle, while the mostly US “big three” lose money on every vehicle.
I feel so much more secure.
